Institute for Digital Technologies

The Institute for Digital Technologies aims to address major technological challenges, with a focus on Big Data, Interactive and Creative Media, Communication Technologies, Cyber Security, Smart and Autonomous Systems.

Our academics share professional expertise in postgraduate teaching and a wide range of research projects in networked media, security, automation, healthcare, design, education, sports and transport. Among the key technologies covered by the academics are audio and video signal capture, processing, distribution and rendering; multi-modal signal processing; machine learning; network and data security techniques. 
 
The team at the Institute for Digital Technologies is renowned for building strong collaborations with national and international academic, research, and industrial organisations. Some of them are British Telecom, BT Sport, PTV Group, Chelsea FC, Thales, BBC, Telefonica, Rohde & Schwarz, Technicolor, Arcelik and Disney Research.
 
The recruitment of new PhD students is a continuous process at the Institute for Digital Technologies. Research students will be closely guided by expert researchers, as well as industrial organisations.

Masters programmes

Programmes are designed for students who wish to gain knowledge and expertise in the latest advances in digital creative media, mobile Internet, advanced 5G networks with cloud systems, cyber security, big data and digital technologies combined with business management.

Each programme incorporates principles and teaching inspired by current research, whilst offering students a chance to partake in development projects and industry-focused work experience opportunities.
