The Collaborative Project
A key feature of many of our programmes is the Collaborative Project module, where a cross section of students address a brief provided by a real business or organisation.
About the Project
Students from across the University form interdisciplinary teams and use their individual experiences and expertise to solve a real business problem, provided by one of our corporate partners. The team work together for the duration of a semester to explore innovative and creative solutions to their brief, before presenting their findings to their business partner.
This exciting module enables students to develop their knowledge through experiential learning, by working with one another and in partnership with a real business or organisation. Each student is able to develop their problem solving skills, and can experience real-life strategic planning, commercial awareness, communication and team working.
Previous companies included a range of multinationals, SMEs and start-ups, including: AECOM, Bespoke Beverages, Blaze, CCD, Cisco, City Insights, FDM Group, Flamingo Group, Foster + Partners, MediaMath, Speedo and Youth Sport Direct. Our ambition for next year is to involve more companies, as well as introduce NGOs, not-for-profit organisations and charities to the project. Examples of previous projects can be found by clicking on the below case studies.
Some of our students worked with Speedo, a manufacturer and distributor of swimwear and swim-related accessories.
Groups of students also worked with City Insights, a proven, cost-effective entry to the mobile comms revolution.
