Jake Warren is the Founder and CEO of Air Food Water Gym.
Why did you choose Loughborough University?
Loughborough has a certain energy; it’s unlike any other University I have visited. It also has a great reputation among students. For me, choosing my university was an easy decision to make – it was literally Loughborough or nowhere.
What qualification have you gained from Loughborough and how has it helped you?
I graduated with a 2:1 in English Literature. The skills I developed whilst studying for my degree have been invaluable in helping me to set up and run my own company. Most notably, my degree taught me how to analyse and communicate my ideas, both efficiently and effectively.
What do you love most about your job?
There are several things I love about my job. Firstly, it is incredibly rewarding to be able to bring an idea to life. Secondly, I really enjoy having the opportunity to be involved with so many facets of the company. I also love working and collaborating with other creative people.
Where do you see yourself in the future?
Running Air Food Water Gym, as a successful company. Continuing to collaborate with creative, inspiring people, to bring other ideas to life. Offering advice and support to the next generation of entrepreneurs.
How inspires you?
My family is a big inspiration - their support and advice has been invaluable. I have also been inspired by other people from the world of business and entrepreneurs. I also love to read books written by creatives and influential thinkers. I’m currently reading ‘The Art Of Thinking Clearly’ by Rolf Dobelli.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
I'd like to thank Loughborough Alumni Laurence Kemball-Cook for his kindness and support. Read more about Lawrence Kemball-Cook and his globally successful start-up company, Pavegen.
Seeking guidance from another Loughborough graduate has really helped me, and I would recommend that all students make sure they engage with the wider Loughborough community, both during and beyond their studies.
